Kinds of bat as names

Each kind of bat comes with one true line. The common pipistrelle is a small bat found across most of Europe. Kitti's hog-nosed bat is also known as the bumblebee bat, and the vesper bats are a whole family.

Old words for a bat

Flittermouse is a word for a bat now heard mostly in dialect, and Reremouse is a rare, poetic one. Fledermaus is German and Chauve-Souris is French.

What are good names for pet bats?

Good names for a bat come from the night or from its voice: Lamplight, Candle End, Moth Hour, Ultrasonic, Bounce Back. Pipistrelle and Noctule are real kinds of bat that make good names too.

What is a funny name for a bat?

The joke group has Wombat, Batter Up, Cricket Bat, Just Hanging, Gravity and Stalactite. Gravity's line says the bat has a different opinion of it.

What is a baby bat called?

A baby bat is called a pup. In most kinds of bat a mother has a single pup at a time, which is why Single Pup is on the list.

Are these the names of bats from comics and films?
