    Name a camp

Press New camp name. Tap the first word, the second word, the kind or your camp name to lock it, then press again to change the rest.

    Two names in one

The first name is for the camp itself, built from words for lakes, pines and trails. The second is for you: a tree, a bird, a kind of weather or a snack, such as Aspen, Wren, Thunder or Nacho.

    Kinds of camp

At a day camp, campers go home at night. At a sleepaway camp they stay overnight. The list below has a line for every kind.

    Questions and answers

What is a good name for a summer camp?

Camp, then two words from the land around it: a tree, an animal or a word for how the place looks, and then a lake, a trail or a hill. Camp Birch Hollow and Camp Otter Cove are built that way on this page.

    What is a camp name?

On this page it is a nickname to go by at camp in place of your own name. The list holds trees, birds, weather words and snacks, so you might be Sycamore, Finch, Thunder or Popcorn.

    Are these real camps?

They are made up. Every name was checked against Wikipedia's lists of summer camps and scout camps and its page titles that start with Camp, and matches were dropped. Most real camps are not on those pages, so a real camp may share a name.

What is the difference between a day camp and a sleepaway camp?

At a day camp, campers come for the day and go home at night. A sleepaway camp, also called a residential or overnight camp, is one where campers stay the night.

How this list was compiled: Own list of first words for a made-up camp: how the place looks, its animals and plants, and camp things. Every name the first two rows can spell was checked by script on 2026-10-02 against every page title of English Wikipedia that starts with Camp (2550 titles read that day), and against the text of its List of summer camps, its list of council camps of the Boy Scouts of America, and its Summer camp and Scout camp articles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_summer_camps, CC BY-SA 4.0). Each match cost a word: Thunder, Hidden, Big, Echo, Creek, Blue, Silver, Golden, Twin, Dragonfly, Canoe, Raccoon, Grove, Sumac. Pebble, Blueberry and the second words Rock and Beach went too: Pebble Beach is a resort, Turtle Beach a brand of headphones, Blueberry Hill a song, Little Rock a state capital, and Rocky Rock doubled a word. Most real camps are not on those pages, so a real camp may still share a name. Licence: own work
