    Lock what your farm is

Lock Kind of farm first: Ranch for cattle, Dairy for milk, Orchard for fruit trees, Flower Farm for cut flowers, Homestead for a family place. Then press until the first two words sound like your land, such as Lazy Bend or Quail Crossing.

    What was screened out

Every name was checked against Wikipedia pages about real farms, ranches and towns, and against farm game wikis. Sleepy Hollow Farm and Maple Hill Farm are real farms with pages, so Sleepy Hollow and Maple Hill cannot come up.

    Tips
    • Say the name out loud with your family name after it; if it still sounds right, it is a keeper.

    Questions and answers

Can I use these names for a farm in a video game?

Yes. They suit any farming game where you name the farm, and the lock lets you keep a first word you like while you try the rest. Short names, such as Fox Glen Farm, fit small name boxes best.

Can I use one of these names for a real farm?

Yes, they are free to use. Many real farms share a name, and the screen cannot see every one, so search yours in your state's business register and online before you paint the sign.

What makes a good farm name?

Something from your land: the creek, the hill, the birds or the trees you can see, with an ending that says what you grow or raise. Easy to say, easy to spell and short enough for a gate sign.

How this list was compiled: Own list of 22 first words: plants, birds and other animals, the look of the land and the mood of the place. Every one of the 396 place parts the first two rows can spell (22 x 18), and each of them with every one of the 12 endings, was screened by script on 2026-09-24: each full name, with and without "The", and the pair with (farm), (ranch) and Farms, as an English Wikipedia page title; the pair against GeoNames cities15000 with alternate names (https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/, CC BY 4.0); exact page titles on eight game and fiction wikis (stardewvalley.fandom.com, harvestmoon.fandom.com, animalcrossing.fandom.com, minecraft.fandom.com, sims.fandom.com, littlehouse.fandom.com, gameofthrones.fandom.com, lotr.fandom.com); every list on this site; and a rude-word list read across the joins (https://github.com/LDNOOBW/List-of-Dirty-Naughty-Obscene-and-Otherwise-Bad-Words). 26 pairs hit, among them Sleepy Hollow Farm, Maple Hill Farm, Cedar Lane Farm, Juniper Hill Farm and Chestnut Run Farm (Wikipedia pages about real farms), Hickory Ridge Homestead and Sycamore Valley Ranch (real places), Willow Grove, Hazel Grove and Chestnut Hill (towns) and Thistle Brook (a Tolkien name), so Willow, Cedar, Hickory, Juniper, Thistle, Maple, Hazel, Wren, Aspen, Sycamore, Chestnut and Hollow went; Honeysuckle, Buttercup and Bottom went for rude letters inside the word or the join. After the cuts no name hits. Real farms often share a name, so search yours in your state's business register before you use it. Licence: own work
