Every chapter has the same chance, so a list of names in 1 Chronicles is as likely as John 3. For easier ground, choose one part in the list under the button: the Gospels (89 chapters), Psalms (150), Proverbs (31), the letters from Romans to Jude (121) or Short chapters of 15 verses or fewer (242).

Yes: all 1,189 chapters of the 66 books, 929 in the Old Testament and 260 in the New. Catholic and Orthodox Bibles hold more books, and their chapters are not in this list.

What bible chapter should I read in five minutes?

Choose Short chapters. It holds the 242 chapters of 15 verses or fewer, such as Psalm 23 and Psalm 117, which is the shortest chapter in the Bible at two verses. Psalm 119 is the longest, at 176.
