    Producer Name of the day

    How it works

This producer name generator deals a one-word name, a credit such as on the Beat or Made It, and a short spoken tag, as in Lantern on the Beat with the tag "Easy now, let it simmer."

    Read the full guide

Deal a credit, then tune it

Press New producer name. Tap the name, the credit or the tag to lock that part or change it alone, until all three sound like one person. Names are single plain words: objects such as Lantern, weather such as Nimbus and textures such as Corduroy.

    Say the tag aloud

A tag is heard, not read. Say "Somebody check the oven." before the first drum hit and listen to how it sits.

    Tips
    • Try the name with each credit: Corduroy in the Lab and Corduroy Made It are two different people.

    Questions and answers

    What is a producer tag?

A short sound that a song's producer puts in, typically at the beginning, so that listeners know who produced it. Producers first used tags to sign their beats, Wikipedia's article on the producer tag says.

Is this producer tag name generator free?

Yes. Nothing on the page costs money or asks you to sign in. Press as often as you like and print a sheet of twenty.

Are these tags from real records?

No. Every tag was written for this page, and a script checked that none of the tags quoted in Wikipedia's article on producer tags is here. A producer somewhere may still say something similar.

    Is the producer name taken?

This page cannot tell. A script checked each name with each credit against Wikipedia's page titles and several of its lists, and a match cost a word. Search music sites before you release anything under a name.

How this list was compiled: Our own list of 99 ordinary English words, chosen on 2026-10-02. That day a script searched for every name, and every name joined to a credit, in the text of the English Wikipedia articles Producer tag, Hip-hop production, Record producer and Beatmaker and its lists of Jamaican record producers, hip-hop musicians, hip-hop groups, stage names and turntablists, and looked up every name and credit pair, and every name followed by (producer), (record producer), (musician) or (rapper), as an English Wikipedia page title. A hit cost a word. Most producers have no Wikipedia article, so a name here can still belong to someone. Licence: own work
