    Title of the day

    How it works

This random album name generator builds a made-up title from three rows: an opening such as Songs for or Double-Parked, a plural subject and an ending such as in Stereo. Titles are not checked against released albums.

    Read the full guide

    Lock the part that works

Press New title. Each part of the title sits in its own row under it. Tap a row and a padlock and two arrows appear: the padlock keeps that part while the others reroll, and the arrows change that part alone.

A random song title generator too

A title is not tied to an album. For one song, read the first two rows alone, as in Seven Screen Doors, or tap the Ending row and press its arrows until it is a time or a place: No More Sleepovers on a Tuesday.

    Tips
    • Padlock Subject on a word you like, then print: a random album title generator for one theme.
    • A number opening with a color ending reads like a painting: Seven Screen Doors in Periwinkle.

    Questions and answers

    Are these real album names?

No. Every title is made up from our own word lists, and none is checked against released albums, so one may match a real record by chance. For a real album to listen to, use the random album generator.

Is this a random song name generator too?

Yes. The same three rows make a working title for a song. Endings such as Live at the Granary or Vol. 2 sound like albums, so for a song press the arrows on the Ending row, or read only the first two rows.

Can I get only country, metal or rap titles?

Yes. Press Country, Metal or Rap in the Genre row and every subject comes from that shelf. As a random rap album name generator it draws Mixtapes, Cyphers and Rhyme Books. The list below shows all eight genre shelves.

How does the generator come up with an album name?

It draws one line from each of three lists we wrote: an opening that sets the voice, a plural subject to picture and an ending (a color, a live place, a time or a record-shelf tail). Every line of a row has the same chance.

How this list was compiled: An original list written for this page on 2026-10-01. The tool builds a made-up album or song title from three rows (opening, subject, ending) and cannot block a combination, so every opening was written to read well before any subject. No title is checked against released albums or songs, so a result may match a real record by chance. No artist, band, label, venue, song or brand name was used on purpose in any of the three rows. Rules for this row: every opening is in Title Case and ends ready for one plural noun, so it needs no article of its own. Three kinds: a describing word (most are compounds), a phrase that leads in (Songs for, A Field Guide to) and a number, which a plural subject can always follow. Licence: own work

How this list was compiled: An original list written for this page on 2026-10-01. Rules for this row: one plural noun or noun pair in Title Case that can be counted, so that it works after a describing word, after Songs for and after Twelve alike. The groups are eight genre shelves, the same number of nouns on each. The shelves are our own sorting by what a genre's songs and record sleeves tend to picture, not a fact about any noun. The Genre row of the tool offers Country, Metal and Rap; the other five shelves are in this list and come up under Any genre. Licence: own work

How this list was compiled: An original list written for this page on 2026-10-01. Rules for this row: a Title Case tail that can follow any plural noun. Four kinds: a color after "in", a live recording at a place, a time or a place, and a tail off the record shelf (in Stereo, Vol. 2, Reprise). The colors are plain color names or a color named after a thing (Canary Yellow, Ballpoint Blue). The places in the live endings are kinds of place (a boathouse, a granary, a spelling bee), not named venues. No ending starts with "for", because many openings end with it. Licence: own work
