Three kinds of time
Clocks and watches has 10 riddles, such as the watch that shows halves and quarters like the moon. Days and weeks has 13, from yesterday to the strongest day of the week. Months and years has 10, and two of them are about New Year's resolutions.
Where they come from
Every riddle is in an old riddle book printed between 1900 and 1915, free to read at Project Gutenberg and named under the full list. We told each one again in plain words and kept the book's answer.
Questions and answers
What are riddles where the answer is time?
Riddles whose answer is a clock, a day or a word about time. Here the conductor who beats time all evening answers with the word itself; others answer with yesterday, Sunday or the twelve months.
Is the tomorrow riddle here?
No. "Always coming, never here" (tomorrow) and "What was tomorrow once?" (today) are on the main riddle page, with the hourglass and the back of a clock. This page keeps to riddles found nowhere else on the site.
What is a good riddle for time for a class?
"What has every living person seen, but will never see again?" The answer is yesterday. It needs no word play, so younger readers get it. For older ones, try the letter that comes twice in every day and only once in a year.
