One button, eight lists

The button deals from eight lists on this site. Each list sends the same number of things, so a joke is as likely as a city. Nothing is made up on the spot: every result was written and checked on its own page.

Follow a result home

The link under a result opens the list it came from, where you can filter and draw more of that kind. To stay on this page and keep to one kind, press once, then open the All things list under the button.

A randomize button for a group

Use it as a randomize button for a class warm-up: press once, then everyone draws, describes or acts out whatever comes up.

Questions and answers

What does the random button do?

It picks one thing at random from eight checked lists: animals, objects, foods, cities, jobs, facts, jokes and things to do. Press again for another. It never opens another website.

Can it give me something random from one list only?

Yes. If give me something random is too wide, press once, open the All things list under the button and choose one of the eight, such as Facts or Jokes. Every press then stays in that list.

Can I see a list of random stuff instead of one thing?

This page shows one thing at a time. Follow the link under a result and the whole list it came from is printed on its own page, with filters of its own.

Is every result equally likely?

Yes. Each of the eight lists sends the same number of things, and each thing has the same chance. The draw happens in your browser when you press.
