No. The surnames are real and common, so every pairing of a first name and a surname was searched as a Wikipedia title, and first names that made the name of a person were cut. A match is still possible.

How this list was compiled: Our own pick of 40 old given names, made on 2026-10-02. A script looked up each in English Wiktionary that day and kept only names with a given-name entry. Every pairing of a first name with a surname on this page was looked up as an English Wikipedia page title, and a first name was cut wherever a pairing is the title of a page about a person. 76 candidates were cut (39 other reasons; 34 a Wikipedia page title; 3 a rude word inside or across the join), among them Edda, Osbert, Petronel, Ulf, Bruna, Tomas, Jarek, Lenka. Four more names came off on the day the page went live, because name lists of this site hold them and would otherwise pass their limit of 40 shared names in 100. A pairing can still be the name of a real person: the surnames are common ones. Licence: own work

How this list was compiled: 53 real surnames that mean smith. Rule: Smith itself, and up to two surnames for each language in the tables of smith surnames in other languages on the English Wikipedia page Smith (surname) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_(surname), read on 2026-10-02, CC BY-SA 4.0), in the order the page gives them and in Latin letters; a surname the page lists under several languages names them all. Three were left out by hand: a trade name, a famous altered form and a one-syllable word for iron. A surname stays only if a second page read that day, its English Wiktionary entry or its own English Wikipedia page, also ties it to a smith. The table of South Asian names was left out, because several of its names are the names of castes. 38 candidates were cut (38 a Wikipedia page title), among them Smidt, Kowalitz, Schmit, Ferrer, Ferré, Fabris, Ferrera, Fabré.
