World-Building Generators for Stories, Games and Improv

These pages deal out the building blocks of a story, one block at a time: a scene to play, a setting to describe, a people drawn from old folklore and a name for their language, a shop sign and the sworn order that meets behind it, a potion, a weapon, a room, an event, a title for the book. Each result is built from several short lists, and the lists are written so that any line from one reads well beside any line from the others. The potion's side effect never cancels its effect, and the scenario's twist never contradicts its cast. Writers use them to get past a blank page, game masters to fill a gap in tonight's session, and improv groups to hand out scenes. Lock the part you like, reroll the rest, and save the keepers with the heart. Everything is system-neutral, with no stat blocks and no rule text, so a result drops into any game or draft. Every list is printed in full under its tool.
