City and Town Name Generators
Each page here makes names for one kind of town: the towns of a language, of a fantasy people or of a setting. A press joins two name parts and adds a line about the place.
More about these tools
On the language pages the real parts are shown with their meaning and, where the language has its own script, in that script; every join was checked against a table of real places, and the real ones were cut, so the towns are made up. On the fantasy and setting pages the parts are invented syllables or plain English words. Every list is printed in full under its tool. Lock the part you like and press again for the rest.
