    DJ Name of the day

    How it works

This DJ name generator puts two words behind the letters DJ and adds a genre to play, as in DJ Seismic Lagoon, plays UK garage. The list under the tool says where and when each genre began.

    Press, then swap a word

Press New DJ name. The two name words and the genre show as three parts under the result. Tap one to lock it or to change it while the other two stay.

An EDM name generator by genre

Every genre in the last row is dance music a DJ plays: house from Chicago, techno from Detroit, gabber from Rotterdam. The tempo is the one in the genre's Wikipedia article: drum and bass typically runs at 165 to 185 beats a minute, deep house at 110 to 125. A genre whose article gives no tempo has none here.

    Questions and answers

Is this a dubstep name generator too?

Yes. Dubstep is one of the genres in the last row. Press until it shows, keep it, and change the two name words. Dubstep began in South London in the early 2000s, nearly always at 132 to 142 beats a minute.

Can it make a DJ name from my own name?

No. The page takes no typed name and deals only from its own lists. To use yours, keep one dealt word and swap your name in for the other when you copy it.

Is the DJ name already taken?

This page cannot tell. A script checked the words against Wikipedia's lists of club DJs and dance music acts, and a match cost a word. Most DJs have no article there, so search a name before you print it on a flyer.

Do I have to keep DJ in front?

No. DJ is fixed text in the result. Copy only the two words after it if you like: Midnight Circuit stands on its own.

How this list was compiled: Our own list of 90 ordinary English words, chosen on 2026-10-02. That day a script searched for DJ joined to every first word, and for every first and second word pair, in the text of the English Wikipedia lists of club DJs, house music artists, dubstep musicians, drum and bass artists, UK garage artists, electro house artists, progressive house artists, turntablists and stage names, and looked up every first and second word with DJ in front, and with (DJ) or (musician) after it, as an English Wikipedia page title. A hit cost a word; Midnight stays, because the article under that name is about a heavy metal singer who died in 2009. Most DJs have no Wikipedia article, so a name here can still belong to someone. How this list was compiled: 27 kinds of dance music. Where and when each began is taken from the origin line of its English Wikipedia article, and the tempo, where one is given, from the text of the same article (the article under the genre's own name on en.wikipedia.org). Read on 2026-10-02, and the words each line rests on were matched to the article by script. Wikipedia text is under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license; the lines here are our own summaries. Licence: own work
