High Elf Name of the day

    How it works

This high elf name generator joins a formal opening to a long ending, then adds a court office such as Keeper of the Star Charts. Both halves of every name were made up for this page.

    Read the full guide

Press for a name, then fit the office

Press New high elf name. Tap an ending to lock it and every press after that names another member of one family, as in Aurethorael and Lumithorael.

A high elf random name generator with a court behind it

The offices come in four kinds: sky and seasons, court and hall, lore and craft, borders and roads. Each has a line in the list on what its holder does, such as the Steward of the Crescent Table, who seats three hundred guests.

    Tips
    • Say the name aloud before you keep it. The list gives a way to say every ending.
    • Lock the office and press again to name everyone who has held it.

    Questions and answers

    What is a high elf?

High elves are a people in several fantasy games and book series, and each tells of them in its own way. This page takes none as its model: its high elf is a courtier with a long name and an office.

How do you make up a high elf name?

Join a soft opening of two or three syllables to a long ending, as in Lumidoriel. Here both halves are invented, and the list under the tool says how each ending is said.

Are these names from a game or a book?

No. All three rows were made up for this page. Every opening was joined to every ending and each result was looked up among the page titles of Wikipedia and of fantasy fan wikis. Parts that spelled a known name were removed.

Can I get a shorter elf name?

Yes. The random elf name generator joins two short sounds into one given name, with no office.
