    Megacorp of the day

    How it works

This megacorp name generator builds a giant company for a story or a game: a made-up name, a corporate tail and what it owns. It doubles as a sci fi corporation name generator and a futuristic company name generator.

    Read the full guide

    Three parts in one line

Press New megacorp name. You get a line such as "Corvadyne Heavy Industries. Owns the water of three cities." Tap a part to lock it, then press again: keep a name and change what it owns, or keep one holding and try names against it.

Use it as a space company name generator

Lock the tail on Orbital, Offworld, Interplanetary or Terraforming and every press names a company that works off-world, such as Lumarch Orbital.

    Questions and answers

    What is a megacorp?

A megacorporation, megacorp for short, is a company whose global scale and influence exceed even those of a multinational corporation, often with monopolistic control over several markets. Wikipedia calls it most often a trope of science fiction.

Is this an evil company name generator?

It can be. The Owns row hands each company something no company should hold, such as every satellite in one orbit or a moon, bought at auction, and that is what makes it the villain of a story. The names themselves are neutral.

Can I use one of these names for a real business?

This page cannot tell you. The names are made up for stories and games and were checked only against US-listed companies and Wikipedia, so a name here may already belong to a business somewhere.

How this list was compiled: Our own list of 101 made-up company names, written on 2026-10-03. Each is an invented word with no meaning. Every name was checked by script that day against the company names in the public company file of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (https://www.sec.gov/files/company_tickers.json, a US government work), English Wikipedia page titles and a full-text search of English Wikipedia for each name (https://en.wikipedia.org/, CC BY-SA 4.0), every list on this site, an English dictionary, lists of real first names, surnames and places, a rude-word list, and exact page titles on 16 science-fiction fan wikis. 57 candidates were cut (23 found in the text of English Wikipedia; 10 on another list of this site; 10 a name from published fiction, or one letter from it; 6 a Wikipedia page title; 3 taken out on a second reading; 2 a real first name or surname; 1 a real place; 1 a dictionary word; 1 other reasons), among them Solvane, Halcyra, Cindrel, Quintrell, Korvalis, Quellis. Afterwards every name was put through a one-letter-away search of English Wikipedia page titles, and 21 names that came within a letter or two of a company, a product or a trade name with a page there were cut, among them Rolvex, Haldrex, Monvex, Unimarch and Calyxor. The checks cover those lists only: a name here can still belong to a business somewhere, so the names are for stories and games. Licence: own work
