Why pink and green set each other off
Pink is a pale tint of red, named after the garden flowers called pinks. On the traditional color wheel red and green are complementary colors, a pair that contrasts strongly side by side. Pink and green are a gentler form of that pair, so the two stay distinct even when both are pale.
Shades of the same strength
Each group pairs a pink and a green of about equal strength: blush with sage, hot pink with emerald, dusty rose with olive. The fall group is our own sorting of dusky pinks and dark greens; no season has a required color.
Questions and answers
What are pink, green and ivory wedding color combinations?
Three colors and nothing more: Pale pink, sage and ivory, Hot pink, emerald and ivory, Old rose, olive and ivory or Mauve taupe, hunter green and ivory. Under More filters, choose Ivory to see the rest.
What are fall pink and green wedding color combinations?
The fall group keeps the pink dusky and the green dark, often with a warm metal: Old rose, hunter green, old gold and ivory, Raspberry, forest green and champagne, or Rosy brown, fern green, copper and cream.
What wedding color combinations use yellow, green and pink?
One group adds a yellow to every pair. Light pink, mint green, lemon chiffon and white is the pastel one, Cerise, emerald, saffron and white the bold one and Old rose, olivine, mustard and ivory the muted one.
Are there wedding color combinations with green and pink where green leads?
Yes. A few schemes lead with the green and use pink as the accent: Sage, tea rose and champagne, Emerald, deep pink, gold and white, Olive, pastel pink and ivory or Hunter green, cerise and ivory.
