Choose the occasion

The menu under the button opens on Any occasion. It holds ten: Birthday, Milestone birthday, Graduation, Housewarming, Retirement, Baby shower, New Year, Garden party, Game night and Pool party. Pick one and every name drawn was written for it.

What the line under a name is for

It sketches the theme the name suggests: Caps Off has guests toss paper caps for the photograph, and Keys and Cake puts the new keys on the table next to the cake.

Tips
  • Milestone birthday runs from a first birthday (First Lap) to a hundredth (The Century Celebration).

Questions and answers

Is this a random party name generator?

Yes. Each press draws five names at random from the whole list, or from one occasion if you chose one in the menu.

What is a good name for a birthday party?

One that tells guests the theme in a few words. On this list, Cake O'Clock times the party to the cake, Party Hat Required sets a dress code and Ticket to the Party turns the invitation into a ticket.

Are the party names suitable for children?

The list was written with no reference to drinking and nothing for adults only. The retirement names and most milestone names are for grown-ups' parties, and the rest suit any age.

Can I use a name on my invitations?

Yes, the names are free to use for your own party. They are plain phrases, so some are surely in use elsewhere, and trademarks were not searched.

How this list was compiled: Our own list of names for a private party, written for this page on October 2, 2026, with one line each on the theme the name sets. Every name and line is ours; none was copied from a book, a site or another list, though short party names are plain phrases and some are surely in use somewhere. Because children use this site, no name refers to drinking and none is for adults only. The ten groups are the occasion a name was written for. Licence: Own work.
