These five pages hand a musician the next thing to play or write, so the session starts without an argument about what to do. The scale and note pages are for practice: draw one of 144 scales with every note spelled out and its key signature, or one of the 24 keys alone; draw a bare note name to play, or switch to treble clef, hide the names and read each note from its picture on the staff. The instrument page covers 200 instruments from the orchestra and around the world, each with how its sound is made, and filters by family, region and orchestra seat. The two songwriting pages break a blank page: five concrete words with their syllable counts and rhymes, or a subject with an angle and a point of view to write it from. Two more pages sit outside this list and finish the set: the rhythm page gives a bar to clap and the chord progression page gives chords to play under it. The theory on every page is checked line by line against a named source, and what you save stays in your browser.
