How it works
This tongue twister generator deals one line at a time from 39 written for this site. Chips sort them by length: quick ones to say five times, one-breath sentences, longer ones and swap-around pairs.

Pick a length, then a speed
Quick ones, such as "Crisp cracker crumbs.", are three or four words: say them five times without a stop. Sentences and longer ones are said once, slowly, then as fast as you can. Swap-around pairs, such as "Pop the top, top the pop.", trip you when the words change places.
Practise one sound at a time
Every line here mixes sounds. To work on one, open its own page: R, S, Th, L, Sh, Ch, P, B or W. Each has its own lines, sorted by where the sound falls in the word.
Tips
- For a game, set the count to 5: each player reads one line, and a slip passes the phone on.
Questions and answers
Does the generator write new tongue twisters?
No. It deals from a fixed list of 39 lines written for this page, and the whole list is printed below the tool. No line repeats on the by-sound pages, so every page gives you new ones.
What makes a tongue twister hard to say?
Sounds made in nearby places in the mouth, close together, especially when they swap places, as in "Gold glue, cold clue." The line under each twister names the sounds that clash, so you know which one tripped you.
Are the famous ones here, like Peter Piper?
No. Traditional twisters are well known already, so every line on this site is new. The note under each line names its sounds, so you can find more on that sound's own page.
