    Ring Name of the day

    How it works

This random wrestler name generator builds a ring name in the wrestling shape: a nickname in quotation marks, a first name, an invented surname and a finishing move. No real wrestler, company or signature move is named.

    Read the full guide

Build the name, then keep what works

Press New ring name. Tap a part to lock it or change it alone: keep the nickname and change the surname until the two sound right shouted by an announcer. Copy takes the whole line, and Print 20 ring names fills a tournament.

    What a ring name is

A ring name is a stage name or nickname that a wrestler or boxer performs under. A finisher is the signature move a wrestler usually ends a match with. The moves here are our own names on plain words such as slam, drop, lock and press.

    Tips
    • Say it like an announcer: the nickname first, then the full name, loudly.
    • For a tag team, lock the surname and deal two first names.

    Questions and answers

How do I come up with a good wrestler name?

Start with a nickname that says how the wrestler moves or what they do by day, then add a short first name and a heavy surname: "The Night Shift" Hank Girderlifter. Name the finisher after something that drops, slams or spins.

Can I use these names in a wrestling video game?

Yes: for a create-a-wrestler mode, a story or a costume. Each nickname, full name and move was searched in Wikipedia's wrestling roster lists and move articles and none was found. Those lists are not complete, so search a name before you publish it.

Are any real wrestlers on this page?

No. Every name is invented, and no real performer, company or signature move is listed. Nine nicknames, six moves and one surname were cut because the search or the writer found them in use already.

How this list was compiled: Our own list of 60 nicknames, written on 2026-10-01 for this page; none is a real performer's. How all four rows were screened by script that day: every nickname and every move name was searched, with and without "The", in the text of 27 English Wikipedia pages fetched that day: the roster and alumni lists of twelve wrestling promotions, the glossary of wrestling terms, and the articles on wrestling throws, holds, strikes, aerial moves, double-team moves and pins. Each nickname, each move name, each surname and each of the 3150 first-name-and-surname pairs was also looked up in the page titles of English Wikipedia (the title list of 2026-09-30), and each surname in the surname file of the 2010 United States Census (162254 names), a dictionary and a rude-word list. Nine nicknames, six move names and one surname were cut because the screen or the writer found them in use, and one more surname because it held a weapon word. The lists searched are not complete. No real wrestler, promotion, show or signature move is named anywhere on the page. A new line needs the whole screen again. Licence: own work
